Low Testosterone Symptoms

The signs are easy to
explain away.

Most men put the changes down to age, stress or a busy life. Sometimes that is exactly what it is. Sometimes there is a treatable cause behind how you're feeling, and the only way to know is to look.

A symptoms assessment is not a diagnosis.

(What men notice)

The symptoms men
raise with us.

These are the changes men most often describe. They are common, and on their own they confirm nothing, but together they are worth taking seriously enough to look into.

Fatigue and low energy

Tired even after a full night's sleep, running on empty by mid-afternoon.

Low motivation and brain fog

Harder to focus, losing your train of thought, drive that has gone quiet.

Reduced sex drive

A noticeable drop in libido, or changes you have started to notice.

Loss of strength or stamina

Harder to build or hold muscle, slower to recover than you used to be.

Weight gain

Changes in body composition, particularly around the middle.

Low or irritable mood

Flat, short-fused or just not feeling like yourself lately.

Poor, unrefreshing sleep

Waking unrested no matter how many hours you spend in bed.

A general drop in wellbeing

The sense that something has shifted, even if you can't name it.

Important: these symptoms have many possible causes, from sleep and stress to thyroid and other health conditions. A treatable hormonal cause is only one possibility. The only way to know is a medical assessment and a blood test, not a checklist. That is the whole point of getting assessed properly.

If you are struggling with low mood, or you are in crisis, please also speak with your GP or a mental health professional. If you need urgent help, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
